I know a lot of individuals out there may think that when it comes to coaching, the coach with the best plays drawn up and the better players usually win the game most of the time but I beg to differ. I feel like being able to bring forth MAXIMUM effort from each and every one of your players is THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect in coaching. Most basketball teams, especially the high the level of basketball have the talent to win any game at any given time but there are a lot of times in which players hold back because of what others perception of their leaving everything on the floor may look. I have prepared a poem that summarizes my opinion on coaches and motivating their players.
If Coach can get his team work hard in practice
The coach won’t have to say much in the game
The best coaches are the best motivators
trust and believe EVERYone knows them by name
Most players favorite coaches are of unique essence
They are coaches who got them to play with heart
They are the coaches that instilled the most confidence
That type of coach will always set themselves apart
This type of coach has already developed the understanding
An understanding of hard work and life’s grind everyday
This coach not only knew how to teach a basketball game
But rather the ultimate life’s game, one in which we battle everyday.
